Road Trip Tips
Check out these tips to enjoy a safe and fun fall road trip!
Complete all major repairs and scheduled maintenance before you go. Has your engine light been on for a while? Does your oil need changing? Most major problems start out small, so its better to fix any issues now instead of calling a tow truck on the side of the highway in the fall rain.
Check your glove box! Do you have all necessary insurance and registration papers in one place? Are they current? Hopefully, you wont need them, but its better to know where things are than to be scrambling for something later.
Clean out your car! Its a great time to get rid of stuff you wont need and make sure you have the things that you DO need. Take out summer items and make sure that you have any equipment and supplies that you might need. It's good to have antifreeze, a quart of oil and an empty gas can on hand to make sure you're prepared. Also think of creature comforts and pack warm blankets, jackets, plenty of drinking water and non-perishable snacks to make sure you will have a comfortable trip and be prepared for the rain and cold if something unforeseeable does happen.
